Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Chrissy’s creative writing, creative direction and art is inspired by her experience as a Black woman living in the Pacific Northwest.

Chrissy’s passion lies in uplifting the voices of those often silenced, holding institutions accountable through accurate, evidence-based journalism and using her writing as a vehicle for impactful change.

Chrissy’s skills include copywriting, graphic design, interviewing, copyediting and creative directing.

When she isn’t writing, she’s reading work by some of her favorite authors — namely, James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, and Caleb Azumah Nelson — writing poetry, practicing her guitar and singing.

Chrissy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon.
